KinderVision® - The National Child Safety Education Program - Law Enforcement

Since its inception, KinderVision has had a close partnership with and deep appreciation for law enforcement. Recently, two things have been brought to our attention by our law enforcement partners. First, a comprehensive training in the area of child abduction and child homicide case investigations was needed. Due to the unique and infrequent nature of this crime, and the fact that of the 17,000 agencies nationwide, most are very small, departments have little collective expertise in this area. At our request, the Institute of Investigative Sciences has developed a training program to assist law enforcement with this issue so that law enforcement can assure families that everything that can possibly be done to find a missing child and the perpetrator happens in the most expedient and comprehensive manner possible. This training will be delivered through the KinderVision Foundation via its longstanding relationship with law enforcement agencies nationwide.

The KinderVision Law Enforcement Training is a three day multi-agency law enforcement training whose goal is to prepare the Investigator and Investigative Supervisor to conduct and manage a Major Crime Investigation from initial response through needed follow up. The course is intended for various experienced investigators, evidence technicians, supervisors, and prosecution attorneys. The training will be taught by several well known experts from th Institute of Investigative Sciences.

The second concern of law enforcement was funding for the training in the wake of budget cuts. That’s where you can help. Be the person who organizes the community to fund the Law Enforcement Training in your area. Be the company or organization that underwrites the Law Enforcement Training for your area.

KinderVision began with the murder and abduction of a little girl and the detective working on that case narrates our English video to this day. An officer from Dallas P. D. narrates our Spanish version. California Highway Patrol appears on our informational video. The Indiana State Police and Tucson Police Officers’ Association have sponsored KinderVision in their communities. We use law enforcement explorers as our paid staff whenever possible and law enforcement uses our video in their school programs nationwide. We appreciate our partners in prevention and the ongoing effort they make to protect our youngest citizens. We ask your support in helping them make the good even better.
